This summer, Lynwood Unified School District students engaged in hands-on learning – from building go-karts and robots to learning about engineering through Legos – all while getting ready for the academic challenges of the upcoming school year.
Campers in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade explored cool concepts in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM), played outdoor games and made new friends while developing academic, social-emotional and physical skills as part of the District’s summer bridge and enrichment programs.
The District partnered with codeCampus and GalileoX to foster innovation and problem-solving skills among the scholars, with the young learning how to code, build catapults and create digital art. Students also embarked on adventures with Think Together, which took a group of middle school students on an overnight camping trip to San Clemente.
Rising freshmen also participated in a summer bridge program to prepare for the transition to high school. Students learned social-emotional learning skills, college entrance requirements, developing a college-going mindset and goal setting.
As we look forward to the new school year, Lynwood Unified remains committed to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all students. We are proud of the achievements made during our summer programs and are excited to continue supporting our students' academic and personal growth.
